Wojciech Weiss was one of the premier figures of the Young Poland movement, as well as a professor and rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Initially associated with Symbolism, he later developed a personal style embracing portraiture, landscapes, still lifes, and nudes. His work is marked by exceptional artistic culture, flawless technique, and masterly handling of color and light.
