Henryk Baranowski (1932–2005) was a prominent Polish marine painter whose life and work were inseparably linked to Gdynia. A graduate of the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Gdańsk, his style was characterized by a masterful use of light and color, allowing him to capture the unique atmosphere of the Polish coast. His works primarily depicted harbors, shipyards, fishing boats, and dynamic seascapes. As a reserve commander in the Polish Navy, he often blended his artistic passion with military life. His paintings, valued for their authenticity and technical precision, are held in museum and private collections worldwide.
